NOTICE OF SEALED BID OPENING
FOR SALE OF REAL PROPERTY
The City of Karnes City, Texas (the “City”) is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the
following real property (the “Property”) as described in this Notice of Sealed Bid Opening:
The Property commonly known as 211 E. Calvert, Karnes City, Texas 78118, being legally
described as consisting of approximately 0.0670 acres of land, KARNES CITY COMMON
WALL, BLK 20, LOT 16, CITY OF KARNES CITY, KARNES COUNTY, TEXAS. The
Property contains an existing structure that includes approximately 2,580 sq. ft. of rentable office
space, as well as an additional 1, 152 sq. ft. of unfinished space on the second story. It is the
intention of the City to sell the Property based on the best value bid that is submitted. If, in the
judgment of the City Council, none of the bids submitted represent the fair value of the Property,
the City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Should any bid be accepted, payment shall be
made by earnest money deposit, subject to closing, and shall be deposited with the City or
designated escrow agent by cashier’s check or money order payable to “City of Karnes City, Texas”
within ten days of the award notice.
RECOMMENDED MINIMUM BID: $230,000.00
The property will be sold “as is” with no warranties or representations as to suitability for any
particular use. Conveyance of the property will be by special warranty deed. Bids shall be delivered
in writing, signed by the bidder or an authorized representative, and enclosed in a sealed envelope
to the City of Karnes City, C/O Veronica Butler, City Manager, 1007 N. Hwy 123, Karnes City,
Texas 78118. All bids shall be plainly marked “SEALED BID TO PURCHASE REAL
PROPERTY.” Bids must be received before 4:30 p.m. on July 10, 2025, and any bid received after
that time will not be considered. City Council will open, read, and tabulate the bids at 6:00 p.m.
on July 22, 2025, at City Hall, 1007 N. HWY 123, City of Karnes City.
