Karnes City, the county seat of Karnes County, is a community composed of diverse cultures with a common need for community recreational facilities. It was for this reason in April 2000 by Resolution that a Parks Advisory Committee was formed and formally established by Ordinance in May 2005 as a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board with the expressed purpose to advise the City Council on matters concerning the development and continuing operation and maintenance of City parks and recreational facilities. The Board’s mission in part is to proactively enhance the quality of life in Karnes City through parks and recreational facilities as well as to stimulate community pride.
