An Ordinance of the City of Karnes City, Texas; Regulating the keeping of animals within the City limits.

Some major points of emphasis from Ordinance 2002-09 include:

  • Owners shall exercise proper care and control of his animal to prevent it from becoming a nuisance in a public place or near a private residence
  • All animals shall be secured by a leash, lead, or other restraining barrier; under the control of a responsible person and obedient to that person?s verbal command; or remain within the real property limits of its owner
  • The owner of each and every dog or cat shall have such dog or cat vaccinated against rabies by a practicing veterinarian at least once every year, (V.T.C.A Health and Safety Code Sec. 826.021).

Animal Control Officers provide a variety of services to the citizens of the City of Karnes City including:

  • Answering calls concerning suspected abuse or cruelty to animals
  • Animal Bites
  • Injured animals
