The City Secretary is responsible for maintaining the official records of the City of Karnes City, posting all official notices, preparing agendas and supporting materials, recording the minutes of the City Council meetings, and assisting City Council as needed. This position also serves as the City Elections Officer, and Records Management Officer.

City Council minutes are located under the “Minutes” tab. Other City documents may be obtained or viewed by submitting a Request for Public Information Form to the City Secretary’s Office. The request must be in writing and signed by the requestor; however, you may submit the request in any written form.

Requests for Public Information are filled within 10 working days. If records cannot be furnished within 10 working days, the requestor is notified by the City Secretary as to when such records will be available.

The City Secretary’s Office coordinates the posting of agendas and minutes for all other Municipal Boards, Commissions, and Committees, and the Office accepts applications from those wishing to serve on Committees.
